The continued detention of Ms. Huda Hassan
Ms Huda Dyad Hassan, born 1952, remains disappeared since her arrest two days ago. She suffers from several diseases and depends on regular medication.
Ms. Huda was arrested last Wednesday, 2011-08-10 at 05:00am in her house by armed security forces. She has subsequently been taken to an unknown location. She is believed to be currently held at the Military Intelligence branch.
Her husband was the late Taj Al-Deen Reesha, a political activist of the communist Labor Party.
Ms. Huda graduated in history from the University of Damascus and is a retired teacher, a mother of three girls and a grandmother to 3 grandchildren. She suffers from high blood pressure and diabetes.
Her detention occurred during a massive wave of arrests during which dozens were detained in the city of Salamyeh and its suburbs. The following detainees could be identified:
Younus Deeb, Sultan Ghaibour, Mohieddin Zareeq, Dr. Ahmad Taleb Kurdi, Dr. Mawloud Mahfoud, Abdullah Younus, Issam Zahra, and others.<\/p>\n
