While the number of children martyrs of the Syrian uprising is 77 children during the past few days, the number of women martyrs until this moment is 41 women and girls.
While most of the female martyrs killed by snipers or security bullets breached the walls of their homes, or through the storming of cities and regions, some of them were killed while they were participating in peaceful demonstrations calling for freedom.
The same case for the list for the total martyrs, the largest number of female martyrs is from Daraa which is more than twenty femal martyrs, while the rest were distributed among the martyrs and Idlib, Homs,Damascus, Hama, Jableh and Banias.
Perhaps the most important images that shock the conscience of the world, the three killed women from Markab, who were shot and killed by the security forces on the seventh of last May during a demonstration demanding the release of their sons who were arrested in hundreds in a campaign to storm the Banias. The security forces opened fire on the women demonstration. The following were killed immidiately:
Leila Sahiouni, the only daughter for her parents among seven brothers, an employee at clothing store
Ameena Sahiouni, a mother to four sons and two daughters.
Ahlam Ahmad Hwaisieh, 23 years old, She is an instructor at Tshreen University at Lattakia, Philosophy department. Her name is still in the honor list in the university till now.
