to preempt the regime and his lying media’s attempts to claim that the people of Douma have asked the army to intervene and fight the so-called armed groups and infiltrators – which was the official story in Tal Kalakh, Jisr Al-Shoghour, Daraa and other Syrian cities and towns – We, the people of Douma, declare that the city is free of any armed groups and infiltrators, and that the claims of the Syrian regime are unfounded and full of lies. Therefore, we hereby underline our absolute refusal for any attempt to bring the army to the city.
