The youth of Syria in 15 March have sparked the popular peaceful revolution demanding dignity and freedom and struggling for the transition of the Syrian society from a tyrant corrupted state to a democratic civil state where all citizens are equal in rights and duties.
The signatories of this statement emphasize that what is taking place in Syria today is a popular peaceful revolution expressed through the local coordination committees in every rebellious town and city, joined by sons and daughters of Syria that beleive in the eligibility and legitimacy of the demands of continously escalating revolution.
The signatories beleive no matter how far the tyrant regimes goes in using violence to repress the peaceful revolution of the Syrian people this will not impair the determination of the brave Syrian rebels, who are armed with only this determination to face the brutal violence of the regime by their bare chests. And that the only way resolve this crises out of the sea of blood, into which the regime is trying push Syria to save its symbols, is to accept the demands of the uprising people in every street and alley in the Syrian towns and cities and to recognize the conditions of the transition of the state and the society to a pluralistic democratic regime the garantees the freedom and dignity of all citizens on the bases of citizenship and equality in rights and dut
based on the aforementioned, we the undersigned call upon the Syrian people in all variety to join the initiative that has been laid out by the Local Coordination Committees in Syria which has been published on June 11 2011. This initiative speaks for the will of the revolting Syrian youth, and materializes the demands of the people’s peaceful demonstration. It also provides a vision for an exit strategy from the dark tunnel through which the country has been forced to go by the current regime, and includes a systematic vision for a social contract that should be the basis of the new Syrian state.
The undersigned pay their respect to those who gave their lives for freedom, and they bow in respect to the great people or Syria and their exceptional bravery in fighting for their natural rights in freedom and dignity.
The undersigned also call upon the Syrian people: those revolting in the streets and those who are in voluntary and forced exile, to eschew sectarian and religious conflicts – which the current regime is doing its best to maintain hoping to avoid the downfall- ; and to unite behind the initiative of the Local Coordination Committee in Syria; and to maintain demonstrations and peaceful sit-ins and civil disobedience until the goals of the Syrian revolution in establishing freedom, dignity and a democratic state to all the people are met.
