To the dignified people of Syria..
Our city of Salamyeh was always one of the cities that always moved along with the public movement in all parts of our beloved country Syria, as our youth (boys and girls) participated in the peaceful demonstrations and promised to proceed on until the achievement of peaceful democratic change in Syria and gain freedom.
Today we had a massive demonstration in which all people of the city participated from all social activities, religions and political views, they used slogans demanding freedom, peaceful change, renounce violence and oppression and all forms of discrimination and tribulations that the system tries to raise since the beginning of the revolution and until this moment.
The demonstration was accompanied with security personnel on both sides of the route without being subjected to any of the protesters.
We hope that the city will not witness the same what the last two demonstrations have seen: Security forces observing the scene without intervention, before the shabiha (regime thugs) and the insurgents of the regime started in the city of Salamiyeh to raid the flats of some of the protesters and to beat them with stones and sticks. Meanwhile, the security forces were standing there, taking over the role of observers watching their fellow Syrians being attacked and beaten by the shabiha. As the methods of the regime vary in the different cities, and in ours today also, which was only raising roses and banners for a peaceful change, we want to assure that we are going to continue our way – in spite of all the restrictions and campaigns we have always been facing. We will accompany our Syrian brothers on their way to bring back our beloved country, we declared freedom as our goal, and peacefulness to be our method to finally reach this freedom, which will soon come back to its owner. Long lives Syria and its people! Glory to the martyrs of our dignified revolution everywhere in the country …
