Press Release: Visit by Congressman and British MP to Assad

The Syrian Revolution Coordinators Union (SRCU) strongly condemns the visits and talks held by the British MP Brooks Newmark and the American congressman Dennis Consistesh with Bashar Al-Assad the head of the regime who is involved in killing, detaining and torturing Syrian citizens for participating and arranging the peaceful protests asking for freedom in Syria.
Any communication with such a criminal regime in Syria that helps provide it with a claimed legitimacy is highly unacceptable by the Syrian people, simply because such talks will be an aid to the criminals themselves who should face the court for all the crimes they have been committing.
This regime has been killing and oppressing the citizens he is supposed to protect for last 3 months. More than 1700 have been confirmed killed, 15,000 turned into refugees and 11,000 detained.
It is noted that the irresponsible government committing these crimes, had announced that it is going to forget the existence of Europe on the map based on the statements by some European leaders against the regime crimes.
Reflecting the Syrian people’s wish, the SRCU had declared that we extend our hands with love to all the nations around the world, now and after getting rid of Al-Assad regime.
We call upon all American and British citizens to join us in condemning such visits by both Newmark and Consistesh, and we hope they can support our peaceful pro-democracy protesters till the fall of Assad dictator family regime
