In synchronization with the start of the consultative conference, held today in preparation for the claimed dialogue, several neigbourhoods in Homs such as Bayada, and Bab Sibah were being raided by tanks, machine guns and grenades. During the raids, two were shot dead, many others were injured.
Few days ago, the town of Dumair, one of the suburbs of Damascus, had been raided causing seven casualties, tens were injured, and hundreds to be detained. Up to this moment, the town remains to be under siege.
The regime even used flechettes against peaceful protesters in Harasta in the suburbs of Damascus. The usage of such weapons have been confirmed by doctors who took care of wounded protesters. Many cities remain to be under siege, like Idlib, Talkalakh and Banyas. Raids and random detention continue in Banyas, Homs, Damascus and suburbs, Idlib and suburbs, Raqa and Deir Ezzor. It is estimated that, in the past two weeks, no less than fifteen thousand people have been detained. Detainees are tortured and treated badly. Until now, besides those who have gone missing, the local coordination committies in Syria (LCCSyria) were able to document the names of 1963 martyrs.
Reactivating regime’s operations in Homs (murder, siege, detention) and using various types of arms while dialogue kicks off, proves the regime’s true intentions of oppressing the people’s revolution no matter how high the death toll rises, and confirms dialogue to be nothing but a cover up for violence commited against Syrian citizens.
The local coordination committies demands an end to the media and political hypocrisy practiced by the regime, as well as an end to murder, siedge and persecution against Syrians rebelling for their freedom and dignity.
Victory to our revolution and mercy upon our fallen freedom fighters.
