Tartous: Several demonstrations set out last night from Baladiyeh Mosque, Mansour Mosque, Omari Mosque, Najah Mosque, and Salam Mosque as well as in the neighborhood of Fakhoura. Hundreds of protesters gathered in the Sahleh area of Old Tartous. They were then violently attacked by security forces, and whoever was filiming the demonstration was severely beaten. Security forces also stormed Baladiyeh Mosque, beat the protesters inside the mosque and arrested plenty of them. A well-known Alawi family stopped a demonstration in support of the regime in the area of Baraniyeh and demanded the supporters disperse, in respect of the feelings of the locals. Tartous has experienced a lively activity with regards to demonstrations since the beginning of Ramadan. On the first day, there were two demonstrations, setting out from Najah Mosque and Moneera Mosque in Mar Ilyas. The protesters were chanting in support of Hama. The protests were adjourned due to the arrival of security forces. On the second day, several demonstrations set out from Salam Mosque and the neighborhoods of Faqasseh and Hawouz.
