The humanitarian situation of the population in Jabal Zawyeh is getting worse day by day with the continuation of the military operation. Most Jabal Zawyeh’s citizens fled their homes to the mountains, where they are sleeping on the ground with no roof. They are also suffering from a lack of drinking water, and were forced to drink water ponds accumulated in the valleys, not to mention the shortage of basic food.
Meanwhile, Security forces and Shabiha (regime’s armed thugs) are bargaining citizens who did not leave their villages over food and security. They are forcing citizens to do pro-regime protests while army vehicles are patrolling in front and behind them, in exchange for bread, as happened yesterday in the village of Bara. Add to this, the destruction of food supplies, contents and furniture of houses, looting gold ornaments and money and an ongoing wave of arrests in most towns and villages.
